How to open the save folder
- Open Steam and note your account, or press Win + R.
- Paste C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata and press Enter.
- Open the numeric SteamID folder > 1203620 > remote.
- Copy the 'characters' and map files somewhere safe before wiping or moving PCs.
Save problems & fixes
Enshrouded save won't load or character is missing
Check both locations — Steam\userdata\<SteamID>\1203620\remote (cloud on) and %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\Enshrouded (cloud off). If cloud recently synced an older copy, close the game, verify files, and let Steam re-sync; restore your manual backup of 'characters' if needed.
My Enshrouded world is gone after joining a friend's game
Co-op progress on someone else's world is saved on the host, not your PC — your local files only hold worlds you host or play solo. Have the host back up their remote folder.
I can't find the userdata folder
If Steam is on another drive, open Steam > Settings > Storage to see the install path, then follow Steam\userdata\<SteamID>\1203620\remote there instead of Program Files (x86).
